Welcome!

The second annual Alan Graff Memorial Golf Outing was a great success!  A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors & donors, golfers, volunteers, and especially Dr. Michael Goggins from Johns Hopkins University for making the trip to Sioux Falls for the golf outing and sharing with us the research being conducted to find an early detection method for pancreatic cancer.  To learn about our successes, visit our News page.  Also, don't miss the photos from the 2013 Alan Graff Memorial Golf Outing.  A great time was had by all!

About Alan Graff Memorial Foundation

The Alan Graff Memorial Foundation is a public charity whose goal is to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research.  Currently, no screening has been discovered to test for and diagnose pancreatic cancer in its early stages.

Alan Graff was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer in January 2011 and passed away on June 16, 2011, at the age of 52.  Even with regular annual physicals, a healthy diet and exercise regimen, and awareness to healthy living, the cancer remained undetected until spreading to the liver.  With a way to diagnose pancreatic cancer earlier, Alan's untimely passing could have been prevented.

Once thought to be a rapid-moving cancer, cancer of the pancreas is now known to be a very slow-growing cancer due to the location of the pancreas.  Oftentimes, symptoms are not displayed until the cancer has spread to a larger, more vital organ such as the liver, stomach, or lungs.

Johns Hopkins University & Medical Center has been chosen as the recipient of all funds raised by the Alan Graff Memorial Foundation.  Johns Hopkins houses one of the country's largest pancreatic cancer research centers.  Dr. Michael Goggins and his team are working to find a way to screen for pancreatic cancer in its early stages.  The Alan Graff Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund has been established to assist in finding a test that may lead to a cure for pancreatic cancer.  To learn more about the studies at Johns Hopkins, please visit our donations page.

The Alan Graff Memorial Foundation is a public charity under section 501(c) of the IRS tax code.
